Medalist Cornets

Introduced in 1961 by the RMC-Reynolds division of Richards Music, the Medalist cornet replaced the Roth model as the low-end student instrument in the catalog.

1961 print ad: "When you try the other two leading brands of school instruments, we sincerely believe that you will notice an RMC Medalist has 'that wee bit more.' 1966 catalog: "A popular-priced cornet with all the quality features of our Medalist TU-58 Trumpet, and the balanced bore dimensions and proper resistance that allow a wider tonal and volume range, outstanding intonation and truly characteristic sound. Professional mouthpiece, music lyre and modern case included."

1970 catalog: "Calculated balanced bore dimensions enable the beginning student to use a minimum of breath, but still maintain maximum projection. This outstanding student cornet combines exceptional playing performance with sturdy, rugged construction for long life and dependable service."
