Onyx Cornet

Produced at the Olds plant in the mid-1970s, the Onyx model cornet featured an ebony lacquer [aka "black nickel"] finish option over the brass areas of the horn. The ebony contrasted with the nickel silver valve tuning slides and crooks, and valve tops/caps. The Onyx is not listed in the 1973 price list or the 1977 catalog, and recorded serial numbers date from 1974-1976.
